Thats actually pretty easy to figure out. The last van on the flat bed was high enough to catch the overhang and knocked it 'forward' into the other vans on the flat bed.

 

This should really happen more oftener. More always....

Apparently it helps an issue I have never had or heard anyone complain about.
I suppose it lets you wear your hat as low as possible while having a wide hat bill that doesn't hit your sunglasses?

Meh, that just seems like a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. It is like they added extra curve to the bill, so that then you would need the cutout for your glasses or sunglasses.
