My roommate couldn’t find her keys this morning. So I helped by continually badgering her search efforts. Thank goodness for RFID key fobs.
Who woulds thunk it...1948? I didn't think they were using diesels until the 50's....As a kid I still remember steam engines on the main line outside Huntington PA...middle/late 50's best as I can remember.
The deisel electric gained a lot of "Steam" during WW2 especially out west where fuel and water were harder to come by. I have a poster somewhere from EMD stating how many battle ships could be built during WW2 if the railroads replaced steam with diesel as well as freeing up the manpower to crew them. (alco and BLH among others made both steam and diesel during the war, EMD only built Diesel electrics)
