I was framing a wall in with a 16 Penny Passload framing gun and my hand was on top of the ladder about 2’ away but lower and 30* loc, the nail hit a knot in the 2x4 broke it and turned going through the webbing between my thumb and index finger. Missed the bones but sunk in the muscle with only the half shaped head the gun nails used.... man that stung! I got down and found another crew guy, an electrician, he was too squeamish to help so I borrowed his pliers and yanked it out... not sure if it was the heat, the glue, or the puncture but it burned for 1/2 an hour or so... poured peroxide in it and shoved a Qtip in it to clean it and went back to framing.
Idiocracy, A Clockwork Orange, The Cool War and the list could include a slew of more obscure dystopian future histories and aspects of quite a few more including the Butlerian Jihad from Dune.
