My youngest daughter is turning 21 on october 27th. She always said that she wanted to go to Vegas for her 21st bday but now says that she is no longer interested in that. She's in Minnesota for college and I'm in cleveland. Need a cheep weekend getaway from November 1-3rd. Someplace warm and sunny preferred with ideally no need for a car other than a taxi etc from the airport to a hotel. What you got?
Cancun or Puerta Vallarta. My wife and I will be in PV over that time - we love it, go every year. Rainy season will be over by then, perfect weather. Peak season rates don't kick in until late Nov so you'll get cheaper flights and hotels as well. Book an all-inclusive for 3 days and do the ole "fly and flop" - great way to enjoy some quality time with your girl.
When I was in a similar boat (no pun intended) at the time I did a long weekend cruise. Flew into FtL first thing Friday AM, took a shuttle down to Miami to board a Carnival cruise to Nassau. Back to Miami Monday morning, rented a car to hang around Miami and FtL for the day, and then last flight back up north that night.
Aruba, Safe, friendly, No 'no-go' zones, they rock the dollar and speak engrish. The weather is beautiful and the same,,, every dam day. If you want a hotel people experience, Palm beach. If you want more private, just south of palm around Eagle beach. We stay here, https://www.pearlarubacondos.com/ @$150 a nite, block to beach.
You’ve got a 21 year old daughter in Minneshitholia and haven’t introduced us yet? Smart dad! Wish her a happy birthday!
As much as I despise the state, the San Diego area is very nice. A couple years back, we spent an extended weekend here - https://www.pacificterrace.com/ - and it was quite nice. Right on the beach, and walking distance to all kinds of food/drink. No need for a car, and a good spot for a 21st birthday. Yes the beaches there are complete garbage compared to Cancun, PV, Oahu, Maui, etc. But the walkway along the shore is nice, and they actually do a good job of keeping the benches free from urban campers during the day. You'll see plenty of campgrounds set up in the public parking areas, but just walk on by. The pier is a good spot to watch crazy as well, maybe even spot some dolphins.
Seal Beach is up by LA, you may be thinking Mission or Pacific beaches. Hard to tell with you being moderately correct all the time. But you just can't compare the sand and water on any CA beach to Cancun or any Hawaiian beach. The beach we were on in PV was nice. Not Cancun nice, but nice.
From personal experience, Sayulita Mexico is more my jam. Laid back, good surf spots, etc. Cancun and PV are Vegas in Mexico. Especially Cancun. Although for Sayulita, you'd want to get a car from airport to hotel. Same for Cancun in my experience. San Diego is a great option. I grew up in SoCal and am happy to provide more input. The hotel linked above is in a good location. If you do go to San Diego avoid the Gaslamp, Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach - these are all college kid / tourist traps. La Jolla, Del Mar, Leucadia, and Encinitas are great little pockets that are costal, walkable, and an easy commute from SD Airport. Curveball... Arizona! Scottsdale, Sedona, etc. are decent in late Oct/early Nov. Reach out with questions if you have any re: SD.
Seal Beach is south of Huntington Beach and is the northern part of OC. He's thinking of La Jolla Cove area where the seals took over the children's pool / kid's cove as their mating ground.
