Mir has finished in the 12-14 range several times, for a total of 13 points to Zarco's 12. You have to assume that is all the Honda is capable of without a fucking lunatic for a pilot.
How is that possible? Marc is the only one dumb enough to set his own tire pressure wrong and get in trouble for it. I read it here on the Beeb by someone that is an utter genius.
what is absolutely amazing is how close this entire field is… all the different manufacturers all the different riders getting the absolute most out of their packages… I’d like to see some stats on how close the field is now compared to years passed… and yes a lunatic used to be enough to get you MotoGP titles on any brand obviously
that’s only the .01 bar level shit there… the others are too smart to make such a small mistake… there’s was bigger… and bigger is better… or smarter… or something
Then why does RRW list him in 16th behind Taka? Odd.... https://www.roadracingworld.com/new...e-motorrad-grand-prix-deutschland-in-germany/
Fernandez was docked 16 seconds for a tire pressure violation, moving him back a couple of positions and Marini up to 15th. I'm surprised that road racing world has not updated the results.
This tire pressure horseshit its out of control, oficial tire tech should check the tires on the starting grid and that’s it.
Going to be interesting when the displacement drops and the aero is more limited. It might be a year or two (or more) before any new lap records are set.
I don’t get the interest in lap records. I mean, if I break a record on identical machinery - cool. If I do it on a faster bike, I’m not gonna break my arm patting myself on the back.
Phl218: Were the tires the same? I am guessing Michelin isn't standing still with tire development. Were the weather conditions the same? That is around 0.3 tenths per lap and saying it is all MM making up the 9 seconds is BS when virtually every bike on the grid except maybe the Honda was faster than last year. Alex Marquez went 22 seconds faster than his time last year. Yeah, he got an upgrade from the GP22 to the GP23, but I am guessing the tires and conditions were a significant contributing factor.
I feel like there's a general lack of awareness that the tires have changed significantly enough this year that most bikes are much faster, even though some are experiencing complications from the extra grip (e.g. KTM).
If my pit board showed 93 closing rapidly, I might just toss my bike into the gravel and be done with it.
