Alternatively, I don't think anything is happening at Fontana that weekend... the roval should be available.

Have you seen the latest pics there? They chopped off turn 1 in the oval and it's <another> mega warehouse. BUT, Dorna could just buy WSIR and run it there... I haven't heard anything about that potential sale since they closed the open bids in July.

    No, I haven't.

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. What's happened with the inland empire and inland orange county is sad.

Soon it'll just be strip malls inside of warehouses inside of housing developments inside of mega warehouses inside of massive industrial parks. Everything will be enclosed, climate controlled, and ruled like a dystopian dream.

The final chapter will be to bulldoze whatever is left of the Santa Ana mountains. "Progress."

Apologies I drove the topic train off the tracks this time. My bad.

If it weren’t for all the Floridiots down there, sounds idyllic. ;)

No. Give me snow atleast 7 months a year and I’m a happy camper.

    That's gross.

So they're going to tear down the rest of the track?

Might have answered my own question. A quick google search reveals plans for a "next gen socal" short track with no due date, details, approved plans, or anything else which means it's essentially vaporware.

Is that the Kaiser steel plant in the background? IF so, been there since WWII.

FWIW I have a piece of asphalt from OMS. Probably just parking lot.

    Yep, same steel plant.

Also to note that some of the main grandstands are gone as well, what's shown in the pic is just what they left up. Less than 1/2 of what was the front stretch grand stands is what is left in that pic.
