Tried for Daytona but didn’t qualify, was contemplating Mid Ohio as it’s only a one day drive so ‘close’ but my finances are borderline.

I can't help but root for Josh. I can't really understand the hate.

He was club racing wera as a kid.

Is he perfect? No, but he is a racer who will always go for it.

    Sometimes racing is racing.

He took it on the chin from Fong at road Atlanta.

Cameron B has to be the unluckiest guy of all time.

He couldn't catch a break last year Cam P. Crashed in front of him at Laguna and caused a big crash. And I don't remember who jammed him up in that chicane that took him out.

He's made some mistakes (crashing at Barber) but I've never noticed someone that much faster, And that consistent be that thwarted.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure, and didn't want to get kicked...

    It wasn't Ashton's fault anyway.

Mat was docked 3 seconds after a protest by the Rahal team reversing the initial decision that it was a racing incident.

Any thoughts on the balancing. It looks like the R6 still handles like a R6 but has the legs to get away from the big bikes.
Hard to separate what is Matt V PJ and what is the bikes with two really strong riders. It is fun for us to watch.

Brainard and the Ridge are super outlier tracks.

Mid Ohio, Laguna Seca, NJMP, COTA should be better balanced.

I think a lot of it is Matt. It’s not like there is a gaggle of R6’s battling behind him. It’s Suzuki’s and Ducati’s.

Kayla... WOW. More and more impressed with her riding.

Nobody else on an R6 is even in the picture. It's a LOT Matt, and a team/8 year crew chief behind him that delivers. just my 2c.

Andy DiBrino still holds the hooligan track record from 2023 on his KTM. Had he been healthy enough to race, he would have certainly been a threat.

I know MA allowed more headwork to the R6 after Hayes rode it. Not sure how much that has helped.

How about Gillim and that Honda? I don't know how that bike would work in SBK trim, but I'd like to see him try.....

Does the Honda contingency go to the team or does Gillim take it home?

Hayes got the head last year about half way through the season?

Matt with Ed spinning wrenches is just that good.

PJ is right there though and it’s clear that thing handles like a bus compared to the R6, and they have way less years of data to work with to sort it out.

I think both are showing the field how good you have to be to be in the mix in Superbike. It’s a good carrot to chase for the young riders and it’s been a minute since you had that… maybe 2019 when it was Hayden v Fong v PJ?

It is nice to see Matt be able to showcase his talents and not being constantly chucked to the moon / fighting with electronics. He looks like the Matt from when he was riding as SuperStock bike. He beat all the Superbikes at Barber outright in the rain one year.

Also, speaking of Matthew, dug this up from 2010

Quick comment on PJs crash. It’s hard to see behind you or even right next to you when you are looking way through the corner. Usually if you leave a little too much room on the inside, you sort of glance to the inside to make sure it is clear as you arc back into towards the curbing (on a double speed type of corner). I think PJ thought there was no way Matt was on the inside and was super surprised when he was there.

From Matt’s perspective, he turned sharper and used track that was available and left PJ plenty of room on the outside. And he put his bike in front, not just next to him or even just even with PJs back wheel. Matt had established position and wasn’t just running wide out to the outside curb with a dive bomb move.

The fact PJ was surprised is why he didn’t pick the bike up earlier and run a little wider and makes it a racing incident to me. Maybe the MA Camera angles show Matt was headed directly at PJ on a collision course, but I’m guessing the 3 second penalty was just to say, hey that’s enough, don’t go any further especially with retaliation in the future. Just my guess there.
