Really. Then why is this being discussed at all. Could it be a another sponsor said no recently. Personally, I give no fucks about OF. Content doesn’t bother me, as I don’t go there. That said, if I was going to put any money into a team, an OF sponsorship, major or minor would deter me. And, I doubt I’m alone in that.

 

And my point is, no one outside the team in question has any business making that call. But it sounds like that was not the case.

 

I'm not for censoring any advertisement. Cigarettes, booze, hookers....people can make their own choices. Now, someone's going to say that they don't want their kids subjected to it. Your kid is going to be subjected to those choices at some point in their lives anyways. Best to teach them about those choices, rather than try to hide from them.

 

Catching up on this. Is OF out at warhorse?

 

They were removed at Daytona.
Bice thinks they will be back for the regular season.
A few others have said Ducati told them no. Whether that was just for the weekend or the entire season, no one is sure.

What's hilarious, is the amount of sketchy money that's always been in racing. Drugs, embezzlement, questionable accounting practices. I would think many race teams would accept money from Hitler, if it meant they could keep racing.

 

Unfortunately, other teams have sponsors who may not want to be in the same series as a team which has a sponsor they think may be objectionable to their fans. Do you want to live next to a house that thinks that a blue tarp is an acceptable roofing material? what would your guests think? Do you want to be pitted next to ateam or shown on the same screen as a team with NSW sponsor? What would your guests and sponsors think?
Personally, I think you should be able to run any sponsor you want, including cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, porn, etc.. unfortunately, there are others who disagree and I can't totally disagree with that perspective.

 

Why does it need to be someone other than Ducati or Audi?

 

This sounds like a publicity stunt more than anything considering they're keeping the sponsorship for RoadA SBK.

Total speculation here but could it be because there's virtually no media coverage in Europe of the rest of the championship?

 

Some people need to get the stick out of their ass and admit porn is everywhere and everybody partakes. The ones bitching are probably closeted freaks who spend big money on OF. Usually the ones complaining are the biggest hypocrites.

 

I don't think Euros are the prunes here? They're pretty liberal considering the Bible thumpers here in Murica.

 

A gray tarp is acceptable...lol. I'm going to say if you're living in a neighborhood where a tarp is the only solution, then you might want to move. I lived in a 2nd floor of a rental, where the landlord wouldn't fix the roof, so I put a tarp up temporarily. Eventually, the landlord agreed to repair the roof...if I paid for it. Bought some roll roofing and did my best to patch it. Needless to say, shootings were not uncommon around there, so nobody seemed to be bothered by the tarp. I WAS however, bothered by the guy with 6 bullet holes in him that was left in the back yard. I moved post haste.

 

I don't necessarily think everyone partakes. What I really don't get, is if you want porn, there's tons of it for free. Why pay?

Yeah, right after I wrote that, I thought "or maybe other markets like Asia…" China is a big market for Audi.

 

Paying for porn since the Internet is a level of commitment I could never wrap my head around. Not that I understood going to a theater to watch it either.

I remember a 935 racing pic where the only sponsor displayed was a the windscreen banner, and all it said was Columbia. In my head I remember it being light blue, so maybe out of the John Paul stable? (and that is a whole nuther story )
