Hey, I was trying to find the Vintage rules for the 2011 Md-Ohio Vintage Weekend but I haven't been able to locate them on the AMA site. There is another guy who wants to race a Royal Enfield and he wants to read the rules so he can determine what class he fits into. Thanks, Adam
i'm sure mongo will see this soon and answer your ?'s. all i can say is this is the best vintage event in the country. track is amazing, racing is great, it's run by WERA. same WERA people you know are doing tech, same WERA people you know are there assisting the AMA people with registration, etc. bring some friends and family. they will have a blast.
Ken Saillant at AMA has the 2011 rules as a pdf. file. Unfortunately, the link to the vintage rules supplement is not working, so I just emailed Ken @ [email protected] and he sent me a copy of the rules supplement.
23 pages, way way way too big... email me @ [email protected] I'll forward the pdf to a few, until the link gets up. ( someone should ask Ken to get the link up)
I read all the rules last year (I think) and it seems to me there were provisions for bikes who's "design/generation" was before a cetain date, even if bike was newer. I think our EXs would fit due to first production dates. I attended and observed last year, just awsome! MX and road race turn out was huge and diverse! I must take something to race this time, it just hurt too much to watch.
In the past years, if your bike fit into a WERA vintage class then it would go into the AMA vintage days. they don't have as many classes so some cover more bikes than you might be used to in WERA. Just prepare it to WERA rules and it should be fine.
Costs for: Friday practice Sat Sprint 90 SS Sunday Sprint 90 SS General Gate fee Oh and Kawi discount?
Stan - email it to me and if it's okay with Ken I'll get it up on our site (won't be til Tuesday or so when I'm back in the office). [email protected] I can't answer a lot of the questions since I'm pretty lost on the rules too - I just keep a copy handy at the event
