On hard wired to self destruct? That album had potential. There's a couple decent songs on it but the thing as a whole is not good. I want everything to be master of puppets.
ok. i crack up when the wife freaks out about me playing Metallica all the time and luca suddely sitting there saying with his deepest metal voice "DDDDIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE" i'm in trouble. i started running the new album up and down, most tracks grew on me, none i wanna skip now.
Just ran through the whole CD. Man so many memories. Thinking back, I've played 5 of rose 8 songs with various bands... Master The thing that should not be Sanitarium Disposable heroes Damage inc Disposable heroes was the hardest song I ever played period. Talk about arm pump. Jesus.
This thread reminds me of the controversy about the $5.98 E.P. Garage Days Re Revisited being sold at more than $5.98 lol They certainly changed their stance on making money since those days...
I'm cautiously optimistic on the album. I bought it and have been listening to it these past couple days. Some nearly true to form throwbacks in there. A little strange it's cut up over 2 CDs, plus a "bonus" CD. WTF?!?! Ride the Lighting is what hooked me on Metallica, but Puppets sealed the deal.
Master and Slayer's "Reign in Blood" redefined what metal guitar could do for me in the '80s while I was playing Priest and Maiden covers. Not much has raised the bar since IMHO, lots of bands that excel techically but none have put the total package together.
