You’re going to accept this news as being accurate when it’s found on a blog that has the words luxury.amazingtoday in its address while none of the actual accredited motorcycle sites have this news? Come on man.
This also sounds ominous https://www.paddock-gp.com/en/motog...r-us-the-2027-projects-are-currently-on-hold/
It’s easy to speculate given all the rumors about KTM’s alleged $3B debt and impending insolvency. But doing so is just a mental exercise until something is actually confirmed as factual.
How is my life impacted should KTM graciously exit from MotoGP? How is my life affected should KTM remain in MotoGP? ‘Scuse me while I sit here wringing my hands seeking answers to these weighty questions.
Acosta will takee the '25 championship if KTM stays in it. Because the factory ducati guys are going to take each other out every week.
I don't think too many folks here will experience significant impact to their lives if KTM pulls out of MotoGp. However, that being said, this is a motorcycle racing centric board that you've chosen to spend a portion of your life on and it's entirely reasonable that a fair chunk of folks here will be at least interested in whether or not KTM remains a competitive force in the top level of motorcycle road racing.
Prima facie, per your post, you will spend an inordinate amount of time engaged in fruitless internet discussion of this very topic. Of course, you could prove me wrong by simply not responding. However, we all know that isn't going to happen.
Out of curiosity, how many times has Ducati, MV, and Aprilia been in financial ‘trouble’ only to be restructured and bought to resurrection. Just saying.
It's a long running tradition for Italian manufacturers to teeter on the edge of bankruptcy. In fact, that might apply to the entire country. Perhaps KTM's stake in MY Agusta has infected them?
Might make it slightly harder to gets them Kramers for the "Junior Cup" if this is true and KTM tanks. So @assjuice cyrus may experience a setback if this happens.
KTM spent money like they had a gold mine back behind the factory and it caught up with them. Not the situation you find Austrian companies in often but whatever. They’ll shed dead weight and be back. Maybe without gas gas, MV and the stupid bicycle side but I don’t see them down for the count. Maybe the road racing side gets much smaller as well, no idea.
If the racing side is sponsored heavily enough, it would be stupid to shut it down, unless they need to just to keep the right/wrong people happy.
Funny you mention that. I know HD is also hurting, but KTM seems like it would make a great acquisition for them. Ditch GG and Husky and just focus on KTM.
Harley looked into buying KTM in the '90's, if I remember reading it in print correctly. Can't remember why they turned it down. Considering what they did with Buell, MV, and inside programs (Overlord, etc...), that's probably a good thing.
