Is there anyone on the west coast with a cal model 08-09 ninja 250r that has removed the clean air system? If so what all did you take off and block off and how has it worked?

    Thanks

Yeah thanks Motion. I've read that thread and it only confused me more. Have you done the mod?

I did it, but I had a guy do it for me. If you're in Vegas, look up Jack Baker. He can handle it for you.

Its easy to do, just remember, what ever line you pull off, the end needs to be capped. You pull the line off the top of the valve cover.....needs to have a cap secured to it. You pull a vacuum line off of the carbs....needs to have a cap secured to it....pretty basic stuff. You can go to any auto parts store and buy vacuum caps cheep. No, I cant spell this morning either...

Same here, only I called Traxion and got front springs for my wieght.

Also called Rebel gears here in Tenn. and got sprockets and a chain.

I'm thinking about going with a standard set of clipons and triming the dash plastic and fairings to get needed clearance. Anyone see a problem with this other than having to trim away the part that meets the tank and not looking as good?
I like being able to lean on the tank to relax my arms and am afraid the raised set Woodcraft has in the works might not be low enough.

I ran clipons last year and ended up just removing the upper fairing in order to fit them. There were also some issues with tank clearance, but a couple of crashes modified the tank accordingly.

How'd you like the riding position?

Mines on an 08, hoping the tank isn't a problem:D

It was OK, made it easier to try and tuck.

  18. caferace

    caferace No.

So you removed the fairing in order to make it easier to tuck. I'm in a logic loop with this one. :)

Muzzy is the ONLY way to go for the old ones.
