The Panis were all kicking my ass in the advanced group I ran a few weeks ago, but at least I knew they wouldn't plow into me, unlike @rd400racer hahahaha
Cost schmost... they dont want to be on permanent record with lap times and total race time next to their name.
RD good seeing you Saturday. At least your son didn't seem too upset when his father clearly "ran out of talent." There were some seriously fast guys there this weekend. I didn't know anybody was running 1:52's. Damn that makes my 2:02 seem pokey.....
If I was your Son I would have said "seems like your ambition outweighed your talent" ? Glad you're both Ok.
You too Chris. We looked for you before we left but I think you might have been in your trailer. He did one more session but his bike had a little head shake so we called it a day and headed home.
I don’t think money has anything to do with racing vs Trackdays. I’ve never seen as many panigales as I did yesterday at ncm.
One of my favorite memories with my nephew was riding supermoto bikes up at Circleville Ohio. I built a set of wheels for his KX65 since he was interested in trying it. He was a very talented MX rider, but a little timid on pavement. Since we were both on 2 strokes I rented the track and was trying to teach him a few tricks before an upcoming mini endurance event. He was struggling with carrying enough corner speed for a smooth exit and I decided to show him how to get in and out of a tight corner, using the throttle to finish the turn. I ran around the outside and gave it a go, not thinking about the cold tires. Next thing I know I am upside down sliding backwards down the track and looking that big shit eating grin of his... He reminds me of that every time the topic of riding comes up.
I like the way N2 does it- groups separated by lap times. Nothing is perfect but that is pretty close.
That's how they did it at the track days I did at Mugello. Hard to refute it. A track day with timed sessions, using the same AMB transponder we do. You get added to the WhatsApp group, and they push messages out telling people to bump up or down as required.
