I have them now....I usually take a big spoonfull of peanut butter and that cures them....but I am at work and have no PB.
Look in the mirror. Joking! Have someone scare the sh@t out of you. There's this guy we call hickups here a work. He's had them since he was a kid.
Drink a glass of water while holding your right arm up in the air. Sounds stupid but it works for me.
Hold an ice cube on your wrist for 30 seconds, the "the pulse taking area" Touch a lit cigarette to the under side of your chin
You're at work? Stand up and, as loud as you can, yell 'I'm looking at porn, bitches!!!!'. Works every time...give it a shot. This one seems kinda cool and, if nothing else, fun to try. http://www.cognitial.com/hiccups.shtml If that doesn't work, try one of these. By the time you get to the end of the list, they'll probably be gone, so, won't be sure which one of them actually did it. http://www.musanim.com/mam/hiccup.htm
Take the deepest breath you can and let it out all the way, then take another deep breath like the first one. Hold it as long as you can, exhale slowly.
I don't know why this works for me, but it does and it takes about 10sec. Sit down and take the deepest breath you can and hold it. Now lean forward as far as you can. Like you're sitting on the curb outside the bar and you're going to hurl. Without exhaling or swallowing or anything, look up as far as you can. Try to point your chin at the ceiling. You should hear a gurgle and feel like you're going to burp. Or hurl. Hiccups gone.
What works for me is drinking a glass of water upside down. Think from a water fountain only more "down" I usually do it over a sink. Really funny when you try to drink too much, and the water goes up your nose, you'll forget all about the hiccups then
went to lunch and while eating they went away.....but I will have to keep this list handy for future reference.
This hiccup'ing is your diaphragm spasm'ing. Just like any other muscle spasm you get you tend to have to stretch it to make it stop, which is what the above process is doing.
