So within the last year or so I’ve found three bands that I’d never heard of that I can’t get enough of… All Them Witches Elephant Tree Silversun Pickups I believe great music comes from the connections between musicians that communicate and operate on an unknown medium as I’ve experienced it… rarely but when it happens it’s magic… I’d started to believe that maybe we grow attached to music solely because of a timeframe in our lives that makes us susceptible to long term connections…. Thankfully I’ve realized that it’s all a state of mind and that our brains still are able to form those bonds with great music that aligns with our own personal musical languages… I was once quoted on a personality piece stating that I like a wide range of musical genres and that “you can feel great music…. And I’m not hard of feeling!” I always like that… so fellas… hope you’re rocking or rolling or even just strolling through some great feeling music today…
Careful with that Mic wheezy! first time I saw clutch I thought they were the worst band I’d ever seen… Metro in Chicago like 92… then kept being where they were playing… and they became one of my favorites… oddly I’ve rolled with their changes and enjoy their ventures into blues and metalish and other tangents… usually I hate that and want what a band is made for… like Tool… you always get Tool… they have other bands for their oddities
Pulled into the country club last night for the year end lacrosse party and didn’t realize the lot was full of the lacrosse girls and some golfers. Had Sick of it All blasting. Got out, had a bunch of people starring at me and finally hear someone say “ewww, it’s so angry.”
Fucking thread…. I just searched ten combinations of “it’s some day” trying to find this and had to scroll 5 pages still all to type…. Supertramp heard ten seconds on some clip and had to revisit the 70s probably turn into Fleetwood Mac shortly
Peter Gabriel So some of it is just so damn good as many of us have pointed out, Salisbury Hill and Your Eyes especially Brandy Clark now…
Some Blackberry Smoke thanks to @auminer I think it was Brit that first exposed me to them many years ago… this generation of that genre usually escapes me but some of it is really good
There was a dude RCJohn on here many years ago, who part-timered at a dive bar in Tennessee who introduced me to them. That was probably 15 years ago.
