How do we know that car was going exactly 100 mp/h? I mean, was there a radar trap at that corner? Don’t get me wrong, I’m cool with one less car on the road, but I have concerns about this whole story, and ze German’s math. Also, I hope you forget how to read.
I hope they get the footage for Live PD Cam, it should be awesome. I was watching it the other night when they had an incident where the cop was trying to arrest a drunk driver and several bystanders helped him wrestle the extremely drunk driver down and cuff him. The drunk guy turned out to be Stephan Bonnar.
i was about to post that the car must have done top speed, but then decided to google the horizontal throw and of course there was an online calculator. one picture also showed a bent post at takeoff, so he might actually have had a positive ( >0 deg) starting angle. wind might have deflected direction or even added lift, not assuming there was a downward wind at the cliff.
Didn't he pass out and they tied his arm to the door handle with ratchet straps? They're lucky it went the way it did. Sure he could take out several average guys without breaking a sweat.
he had that planned . or didn't make the turn at 100 back when i had my 4x4 VW vanagon (syncro) i used to get calls in the middle of the night from friends and family that got stuck because they didn't make the turn... luckily, nobody ever tried to clear a river.
