I graduated high school in 82. Made it to 50 before needing readers and started with 1.25, now 10 years later I’m at 2.5 and just got a prescription last month for distance glasses. Turns out those old 1.25 readers work great for distance now. Lololol

First and only. Surprisingly, I failed 4 of 6 classes that year, made up my English F in summer school and moved on to junior year. LOL

In 82, I was 5 years out of high school.
I've had readers scattered everywhere for years.
I have one pair in the Mexico garage with only the left lens in it.
But that's OK, I lost vision in my right eye when my brother hit me with a BB gun. On Christmas eve. Yeah, there's a movie about it, lol.

So, I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.

Ha Ha ..born in 82? You probably don't even remember Reagan. I was born Harry "the buck stops here" Truman was Prez....You missed the JFK assassination, the moon landing and the whole Viet Nam fandangle...what a wasted life.

Started readers a year ago at 54...Low light is what gets me. If its bright light, i can read construction blueprints without readers and see for miles and miles. I read line 9 on my annual CDL med test.

I ask the doc if beating on rocks for the past 37 yrs is keeping me fit and healthy and he said no. :( So far so good though.

Wearing readers doesn’t bother me, not being able to get stuff done like I used to does.
Mounted two sets of dirt bike tires yesterday with tubliss setups in them. Wore my old ass out.
Was at the dragstrip a month or so ago with the Grandkid and he was trying to shimmy up a tree, I had to tell him how to, 20 years ago I would have showed him…
Now to go ride a two hour Harescramble today.

You will have truly graduated when you must take a picture with the phone to read a jet # or a frame number.

I do that all the time with old motor placards, the paint is all worn off (or painted over) and the stamping is so fine I can’t make out the numbers.

How about balance issues? No I'm not talking about vices or work/life, I'm talking about feelings by a little less sure footed these days.

And don't even get me started about memory.

If you can't shit drink a coffee while having a fat pinch of Copenhagen

I put hot peppers on my dinner pretty much daily to keep my stomach regular.

I take 1x tums a night so I don't wake up with acid stomach....vicious cycle but I'm not taking pharmacy meds.

My biggest issue is I can't get my blood pressure down.

Probly/maybe due to incipient vision stuff and inner ear. Peripheral vision affects balance and inner ear may be due to seasonal allergy issues or prelude to hearing slowly going south. This is all speculation on my part. Of course. Being the beeb and all.

It can also be helped by exercises. It's often caused by crystals forming in the ear canal and they can block the flow of the fluid which is essential for balance. The exercises help move these crystals back to where they do no harm.
