The only cool thing about it is that they were able to isolate the vocal track completely. How'd they do that? Or did Dave recently recreate the vocals for some new "project"?
That's how virtually all recordings are done. You put everything on separate tracks so you can more easily manipulate each part. I guess I'm just used to hearing songs all taken apart like that.
Speaking of which, check this out: http://www.saladrecords.com/BonhamFile14.mp3 You can really hear his bass drum pedal squeaking at the beginning, but that's nothing compared to how much he starts groaning! I gotta imagine that had to have come up in the studio at some point... "So Bonzo, you do know you were making a lot of noise on that track, right?" "Hell yes I was! My kick really carries in that room!" "No John, I mean you were making a lot of noise!"
I get the recording part...what I don't get is where someone was able to get their hands on the vocal track and post it to the web...especially a song that was recorded oh, 30 years ago! :wow:
I'm crying with laughter. In toya, WTF is that? Bonham's kick pedal always squeaked, I'm glad someone else noticed. I guess the roadies never heard of grease. Anybody take a movie of you drumming and critique your movements? It's unbelievably funny, even funnier than Bonham's groaning...... WTF is Charlie doing with his neck, he looks a pelican walking, and now he's doing silly walks behind the kit.... Same vocal track over live concert footage!
yezaham!!! thats a highly concentrated dose of goodness right there i like the seemingly random aa-aahhs and oo-oooos
I don't think it's just a voice track, somebody's dissected it. If you turn it up REAL loud you can hear the rest of the music in the background.
