Ever been down to Barber? If not, he's got a collection of them that'd blow your socks off - well worth the trip.
Owned an old Bultaco Metralla that might put that notion to sleep. And a Beezer triple at the same time.
Me too, still have it. My Metralla is amazing. And my Duc 250 Mk 3, same. And a Gold Star Clubman, same. They all get ridden hard. Got a Bonneville and a Spitfire Mk IV too, if you like hp and wiggly handling, both are also really good. They had some pretty good stuff back in the day, you would be surprised. Don't have a triple, though.
During bike week each year there's an antique bike auction at Stetson University down the street from my house. Apparently, it's one of the biggest around. They have some amazing stuff each year.
You seriously have never been? It is or at least was run by Jerry Wood - dad of the guys who run Woodcraft - and has had some amazing stuff over the years. Tony Pentecost still works it every year.
I didn't say that. I've been several times. Shit, it's literally 200 yards from my house. I was always picking up spares for the Duc there. One year, I was bidding on behalf of an unnamed Scandinavian who may or may not own a racetrack in Florida on some weird super-rare euro vintage thing (had him on the phone.) The bidding went pretty high before he said "don't put your hand back up". I felt like a baller.
Ha! Had me scared for a sec. I've been there once, just never seemed to make it back there in the years after.
