Based on the video it goes something like this:
Four dudes hold X-ray film next to the piece when one dude runs by with a piece of uranium held in a pair of tongs.

 

So that's how they make those. I've often wondered, as I've used a few, but not that big. Cool vid. Dudes know what they are doing.

 

Looked like a scene out of ,Mad Max or Apocalypse Now....crazy!

 

Wonder how many man hours are in it on their end?

 

I wonder if any of those dudes can hear a damn thing.
