    Dpucks I'M GOIN FAAAAASSSSST!

hey guys. maybe a n00b question but cant hurt to ask. ive ran the 125/80 195/65 slick combo kr106 and kr108 and it felt good, just a little sluggish. that front tire can handle some major abuse though, stays planted, and wears like iron. but im curious to try out the 180 rear slick and i was wondering if anyone has run the 125/80 180/55 combo. if so how did you like it and do you have any setup suggestions? im on a 2003 600rr with an 06 front end and ill be running at buttonwillow. thanks in advance:beer:

They make a 180 DOT....non-NTEC from the UK.

I would only run the NTECs as well as the regular DOTs just get way to greasy for me in the afternoon. I ran a non-NTEC for a morning session and ripped them right back off at lunch because they were giving me the same problems that you are experiencing. I would also try the 211s. Honestly, I used to be a Dunlop guy, but I have seen better results with Michelins Power Race or Power Ones or Bridgestone full slicks. I would get away from the Dunlops all together, but I understand that everyone has their own taste!! Good luck, man!!!

I personally LOVE the Dunlop slicks, I have run the rear right through the wear bars and they still stick and the front is just flat out unreal the way it takes abuse and doesn't go off. Our team switched to Dunlops earlier this season and have had fantastic results after the switch.

but like repsol said...everyone has their own tastes.

there are ntech slicks and non ntech slicks both made by dunlop. they are not regular dot race tires. ive ran the 211s and they felt great just hard to find and too expensive. newho, anyone have set up advice for the 180 rear and 125/80 front?

A 195/65 is an ntec. I can't believe you thought they were sluggish. Do you mean in high speed transitions from the weight of the tire?

yeah thats exactly what i meant. and you can feel the weight of the tire taking a lil away from the power of the bike. but they stick like crazy. the profile of the 125/80 probably has a little to do with the slower turn in also.

A: Try adjusting your suspension geometry. You can probably tune out the sluggish feel pretty easily.
B: Try the 190/55 Ntec D211. Performance is similar, but it will transition a bit more easily.

+1 When I first put the Dunlops on I couldn't believe how well they turned in compared to the other tires I had run previously

i HAVE ran the 211s and they are great tires. but i dont have the money for them right now so im running what i can find. which at this time is a 180/55 dunlop slick (UK non-ntec) and a 125/80 kr106 front that i already had. im asking if anyone has ran a 180/55 rear with a 125/80 front and if they have any pointers. not what rear tire i should run because i thought the 195/65 slick was sluggish. i hope im not comin off as a dick but the answer posted arent answering the question i asked.

sorry I got no info on the 180 slick but I'm running the 125 195 combo on my 600. If you can still get that tire, try dropping the front or even shorten your wheel base. I put a larger rear sprocket and found the shorter wheel base and gearing helped a ton. It turned in way better and got more "power" out of it.
