The RS version essentially gives you access to the factory and all the supporting data. You aren't just paying for the bike. Your paying for the platform and access to support.
The V4R race bike is insane. Might as well be a GP bike. It’s so wide. I took a bunch of close up pix. Will upload when I get some time
He's going off on FB too. over 100 comments last I saw. Including quite a few who tried pointing out that Yosh wasn't exactly running stock equipment during the second half of career.............not going well for them.
All Matt's saying is Ducati can't compete without building an uber special whiz bang modogepee one off. It's the only way they can compete with Japan. Ducati game the rules. Been that way for a long time.
Meh. The rules are the same for everyone. Kawi has been tweaking their RR model every year as the rules get adjusted. Yamaha and Suzuki have simply chosen not to participate worldwide. But they have specials available in other areas that we don't see. Yamaha Europe announced a GYRT R1 special yesterday that they are only making 20 of, Suzuki has that one they dropped a few months ago that is Europe only as well. They could easily make a few more and call it good if they wanted to.
Homologation specials are nothing new, and damn sure not limited to Ducati. I love the specials. It gives people the ability to buy a more affordable version if they want, or a super badass one.
Ducati has been pushing the envelope forever. If not for them offering the latest whizbang gizmos to the market, the big 4 would still be on 2006 models with BNG every year.
Why are people bitching about this being a homologation special? Haven't they been making R series bikes for decades now? Were those bikes panned when released as well?
Mladin on FB is pure gold. He's kinda turned into that old man that hates everyone, but still sprinkles some awesome stories in there and has no filter.
