So sad for these kids. I got this from Max Van's page Go Fund Me Fundraiser for Avery Dreher by Michael Correa : Support the Dreher Family After Tragic Loss (gofundme.com)
Truly tragic news. I read that Avery’s actions prevented further tragedy for everyone else in the truck by jumping into action and getting the truck stopped. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/aaron-dreher-father-of-racers-avery-and-ella-dreher-r-i-p/
Man, what a gut punch. Can't even begin to imagine what those kids and that family are having to deal with right now. RIP, Aaron Dreher.
Ella’s post is the epitome of the strongest daddy’s girl ever… heartbreaking but inspirational and the day after and only 14 years old… wow… RIP Mr Dreher
That's absolutely awful. One of my Mom's older brothers had a similar experience. He and his fishing buddy were coming back from a fishing trip by Minot in his friends new F150. His friend had a heart attack behind the wheel on a 2 land North Dakota highway...they hit a minivan of ND/Arizona snowbirds head on...my uncle was the only survivor, but he was all busted up. Point being, my heart goes out to those kids and that young man is a freakin' hero.
Damn. RIP Mr. Dreher. Feel awful for those kids. Lost my own father to a heart attack in my teens as well. But I had at least already graduated high school. Gonna be a tough next couple years. also huge props to Avery for getting the truck pulled over safely. I’m genuinely curious how he managed to do that. Pretty wild. I’ve long said that motorcycle racing taught me how to remain calm in high stress, adrenaline fueled situations that would make most people panic and freeze or freak out. I’d put money on Avery’s track experience doing the same for him.
Given how the kids have responded so far...they are going to be fine. It's gonna suck for a long time...RIP Mr. Dreher.
From FB today UPDATE… Services for Aaron will be held at the Church at Viera 9005 N Wickham Rd, Viera FL 32940 on Friday, July 19 at 11am. Please join us as we celebrate Aaron’s life and legacy. This one hits home pretty hard. It could have been me driving to the track with my boys. I only met Aaron once, but he made a lasting impression. My heart breaks for the family. Thankfully the racing community is a tight one and the family feels the support. Godspeed Aaron.
The deets are in this article. https://www.motoamerica.com/aaron-dreher-father-of-motoamerica-riders-avery-and-ella-dreher-passes/
Rip my man, ! you've done and been alot! for all the older you were and instilled, values most will never know... will say great job!
I've been wondering since this weekend: who is taking the kids racing? Was their dad running the show or are they on a team that's not owned by the family?
