i lived with grandparents in sea ranch in Hudson fl across street from the gulf, on last canal during the no name storm in 93. had 14" of water in the house, homes near us19 had 4-5' of water. i can't IMAGINE what that area looked like after helene.
It flooded 4-5 feet all the way to Rt19 on Sea Ranch during Helene. Same on Old Dixie. Pretty much nothing west of Rt19 was spared flooding in that area. Fortunately, Hudson was largely spared any damage other than some tree branches and power outages during Milton. I was in Plant City Thursday afternoon and the entire area looks like it got hit by a giant tornado.
If you are in an area where you need heat, this is a good reminder of what sort of stuff you need for when the grid goes down
I have to admit, when the last two storms and the longshoreman strike was all happening, we did some hoarding. We are just about to open the last hoarded bag. Now, we didn't stack up TP like most losers. We were overstocking.....dog food. We didn't want them to suffer just because supply lines were messed.
After the 4 day freeze/grid failure we had in Texas a few years ago, we've laid by a couple of weeks worth of stuff and rotated it through our meals. Portable propane tanks are the only thing that I feel like I might be going overboard on. If you consider 15 overboard.
you feed them rolled up TP with doodoo on it? just feed the dogs whatever meat you're having. i started keeping a list, my dude has had grilled meats from 16 different countries. he's more cultured than half of America.
I dont. But in my head they are used for something other than grilling...but you shouldnt need them for about 4 years. Also 100lb cylinders are better for what you need them for. Come to think better for me as well....
