Daytona boots perforation

Has anyone here had the outer and most likely inner boots perforated to allow airflow? If so, how did it turn out? For short stints the boots are fine, but for extended periods of time, feet are broiling in them.
    Cheers,
    René

That's a big reason I stay with Gaerne or A* for boots anyways. Never saw the appeal of Daytonas. Goodluck in finding a solution on this one.

Thanks. Why this isn't an option from the retailer is beyond me.

I dont see why you couldnt perforate the inner shell with a small drill bit then hole punch the outer to match.

    Don’t!

buy something that flows air, keep the Daytonas for wet or cooler weather.

Maybe reach out to Barnacle Bill? Worth a shot,or maybe he could install some inlet vents like some gloves have glued/sewn in?

I just changed socks between races/trackday sessions. Socks are cheap.

I can always get new outer boots for cold/wet weather and keep the perforated ones for the majority of the season. I'm going to bring them next race weekend to a guy that does leather repairs to see if it's possible.

The outer boot crashes awesome and holds up. The inner boot is the protection.
Drilling holes in the outer boot? No huge issue if you can replace it. Drill into the boot you’re asking for total failure of why you bought a Daytona boot.

i don’t have Polen toes because of Joe rocket boots (ask around if you don’t know).

I wore em for years (like 10 +) in South Florida heat , never an issue. Are they too tight in fit by chance?

The boots are a little narrow, and for 20 min sessions they're fine. But if I go for a longer stint like my last 3 hour ride, they were unbearable. The next day I rode for 2 hours with them and they were better. I know they need to break in a bit, but damn, aside from wishing I was born without baby toes while riding, they were cooking.

Sounds like they are too small. For me I put em on and had them on for a bit riding 2 bikes (So had them on for 1-2 hours between sessions and what not) I would forget they were on. Maybe punch em out/stretch some . Did that a few times with hockey skates.

Sounds like the general consensus is they’re too small. Good fitting new boots don’t take that long to break in. Stop wasting your time trying to fix something that ain’t broke and just exchange them for a size that fits and works right. SHEESH!

So now are we to understand that you are street riding with these boots but you are asking questions about them on a roadracing forum, so maybe you're not in the right place? And most here seem to agree the boots are too small for you!

I would think now your question has been answered, so it's time move on? Otherwise you're in Canada so go see Matt at Rider's Choice in Mississauga for help. Dem peeps can help and are great placeto shop!

Not making fun of a simple typo, but more my barely-functional brain looking at the typo. I was trying to figure out what a "placeto shop" was. Is that a little town in California? Or maybe related to a "placebo" shop... A place that sells fake stuff...

I never did ask the OP , are we talking about Daytona Security Evo III boots?

I have no choice but to change boots. I had an errand to run yesterday so I threw them on hoping that they'd broken in. When I first put them on they feel completely fine, comfortable even. After 30 min, my feet feel hot. After an hour, both baby toes are in pain. After two hours, shifting and braking hurts. After three hours I just about launched them into the ditch and rode home barefoot. They feel like they were designed by some Italian high heel shoe designer.
Yes, I realize this is a racing forum, but if I have long street rides, then I'd prefer to have someone turn left in front of me while wearing some protection.

That right there indicates they are too small just like with any other type of shoe/boot. Swap em out for some proper fitting boots and you’ll be good to go! :)

At this point one of two things needs to happen. Either someone needs to hold him down and make him order new boots or we all just ignore this thread and let him suffer in pain whilst running his errands.
