Y'all drowning in cash. https://www.flyingmag.com/alpa-to-return-50-million-in-member-dues-amid-record-revenue-gains/
If only there was some sort of....calcumalations....to estimalize...some sort of.....hmmm i dont know what you call it middle ground figure....like if everyone of those 77,000 pilots got the same amount from that $50,000,000.....But that is just too darn complicated, even for a room full of ATP's with E6B's and a 100 years.....
Are you assuming that all 77,000 pilots are paid the same and that the money will be divided equally, even though 1.85% of a lot of money is probably* more than 1.85% of less money? * I'm being careful here, I'm no engineer.
I wish I got paid the same as an A350 captain. the union meeting where they bring you in and give you pizza and warm beer and tell you that you can join the union and pay your dues or if you don’t join you are fined the exact same amount was rich.
No...they most certainly wont do it that way as that would be fair...and we are talking about unions here sooooo...definitely not the fair way. My guess is there will be some overly complicated formula that somehow gives 30% of the whole pot to 3% of the union brass and they will tell the rank and file they were lucky to get anything and the brass had to pry it from managements teeth using only a paperclip and their wits, with great risk to life, limb and ticket and that rank and file should be eternally grateful that the union brass stood up for them and remember them at election time. Or something like that.
I can send a note and ask. I’m curious now but when I heard that I was astounded they were able to do that. It must be for a finite period of time or something. That’s only scratching the surface too. I flew with a guy who is a union man and told me some things I couldn’t believe they could do.
It is 10:30pm and we’re on some twisty roads. If the crew van ends up going off the cliff you know who did it!
Passed my captain check ride.Yall better look out! I’ll be nyc at first but I may get atl in November which will be awesome . The flying sucks but being based at home is worth it
Congrats! For those outside aviation the first captain checkride is a very stressful and major achievement.
What plane? A friend finally did the bump to the left seat into 717s from right seat 757s iirc. Then he had a stroke and had to sit on his ass for 2 years and is flying again as of this spring. Major atlanta based carrier.
CRJ900 I'm in the minor leagues of that carrier right now. I've got to do 2 years as a Captain in this plane then I hopefully will get my numbered called for them shortly after. Just depends on how hiring goes in the next two years. It looks like they are increasing ATL flying because it was taking guys a year or so to get ATL as a captain but if nothing changes, I should get ATL right out of the gate which will be a blessing.
Lol. We have been talking about that a little for work as several of us fly to Tokyo a couple times a year. I figure that caused those people a days delay....maybe less if they happen to have a 'spare' widebody and crew able to make that route just sitting in ATL. I bet someone is getting a stern talking too. I looked at some pics and it looks like the RJ is on Taxi way H holding short of 8R holding and the big boy was coming down E and clipped him. It looks to me like he is a ways back from the HS line and he needed to be a few feet farther forward.
