Seems like a good deal to me. Bimota’s were always cool unobtanium to me. Now a days I’m pretty sure a modern 1000 Sportbike would feel better. Years ago these had much better suspension, brakes, etc, versus the UJM.
People don't buy a bike like this with parts availability in mind. In fact its rarity is exactly the reason why people would want it. And what's the big deal with service? It's got a Yamaha engine so, it should be ultra reliable...no big deal.
I'd buy it, if it was closer to me. I built and raced a good friend's '82 or '83 KB2 in '83. Bought it in '85, but couldn't afford to keep it and win the WERA Nat'l. End. MWS championship in the same year. One of my sponsors wanted it badly. Good thing it's not closer...
The V-Due is the only one that ever did something for me, but I could never get past that fugly exhaust... until I saw this thing and had to have it. LOVE drinking a Chianti and studying it closely. (I have replaced the rear stand with an Eyetalian job since this pic was taken)
BTW, you can buy a new 90's Bimota for not much more than the one in the OP https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/1996-bimota-yb9sr-with-1-mile/
For rarity and collectability that wins, but the I'll take the first one all day long to look at and ride occasionally.
