I can't help being disturbed that a fellow motorcyclist survives a crash and someone would refer to that as 'unfortunate'. Maybe I missed something. But enough about that. IMO, this incident shows that even a non-compliant 'skid lid' is better than nothing in some crashes, provided the helmet is made of something durable enough to take a fair amount of abrasion without wearing through. There have been many times when I have strapped a heavy cold-weather jacket to the back seat on a day that started off cold and got warmer. The next time I find myself doing this I'll remember what happened to this guy and take an extra few seconds to make sure that doesn't happen to me.
Yeah, dude, if you were trying to be funny, you failed miserably. If you were being serious, well, some things are just better left unsaid.
Yeh. The joke bombed. I should have said it was unfortunate for the ABATE crowd that his life was saved by his helmet and not by his loud pipes...
No biggie, Gigantic. Glad it was just a joke that bombed. We all say things that come out the wrong way sooner or later. The ass avatar more than makes up for the occasional slipographical blunder.
Glad anyone didn't bite the dust. However, if he would have, this would be a sure candidate for a Darwin Award.
