I came so close to putting the boat in the water and running offshore to watch it.........glad I didn't.
Offer some spots on the boat to fellow beebers and you'll have plenty of help putting the boat in the water, cover fuels costs etc... Recruit @Captain Morgan for the culinary expertise etc.
Just got back a little while ago. That's the new rocket launch game. Not a surprise, but a little disappointed none the less. But, got to watch the sunrise over the banana river, so that was nice...
So I think this stuff is pretty cool but not something I really keep up with. If my Google-fu is serving correctly, Artemis 1 is an unmanned mission around the moon, Artemis 2 is a manned mission around the moon, and Artemis 3 is to land on the moon?
It isn't that hard to get that close. He could have been watching the launch with his dong out at Playalinda Beach and been within 6 miles or so.....
I was up there about 3 months ago with the Brazilian girlfriend( now ex) , took her to the space center, never realized how many rockets space x sends up. Maybe we got lucky but got to see 2 launches in the 4 days we were there. Kind of cool to see people lined up on the causeway with lawn chairs making a day of it. We went out on a boat fishing and got lucky to see the second one taking off from the ocean. I never really cared much about NASA growing up in Florida. It was just there watching the space shuttle. But now being older and revisiting Kennedy space center, its insane from an engineering point of view of how many moving parts it takes to work in sync, and to have done all of this at the time the did with the technology that wasn't there. So many people involved in such a common goal to a short moment of launch, and after trying to get back safe. And for the early astronauts, guys got balls of steel, knowing there is a good chance they won't come back or even survive the launch, had to be the best feeling in the world when things got quiet and they were floating. They were hyping up this rocket and trip, hope it works out for them
Was just about a mile north of Titusville. It may have been a slight bit further than I said, but it was 100% very easily seen. Great few point. Saturday we were on the victory casino cruise as they sent falcon 9 up. We were about 4 miles out in the sea. Fucking amazing..
Titusville is ~11 miles from LC39B, anywhere in the area will give a great view. Would be sweet to be out on the water to watch this launch. Anybody going out on a boat to watch and need "crew members" feel free to hit me up with a message...
