Cheek pads feature an emergency quick release system which allows emergency personnel to easily remove the helmet in the event that the wearer is unconscious while stabilizing the neck to reduce the likelihood of further injury. Ventilation is excellent and can easily be tuned with a gloved hand. Large intakes on the front of the helmet work with channels molded into the EPS liner which send cooling air directly to the skull. All Arai sale helmets on here are Snell M2010 approved.
Definitely a beautiful helmet but sorry that is not currently available in the US. From the link: "(Note: This is not a U.S. model and is not legal for sale in America.)"
I took advantage of the Pedrosa helmet. AWESOME price and the helmet was made in 2010!! I'll get four years out of this helmet and that is worth the price alone. Thanks Riders Discount
PM replied. The Dani's are only available in XL currently and are selling at a quick pace. We do have the Grey helmet left in both Small and Large.
Compared to the RX-7 Corsair, this is a completely new helmet. The intake and exhaust ports are larger and the buttons used to control them are bigger as well, so you can feel them pretty easily wearing gloves. The shell has been made thicker around the bottom opening to reduce flexing since it's the EPS-liner's job to absorb impact. The shell's main purpose is to prevent object penetration and to spread the load of the impact over a larger area. Arai engineers also noticed that the upper portion of the opening for the faceshield needed some work, so this area has been strengthened as well. The viewing area from the eyeport is also 5mm wider at either side, providing a larger field of vision. Consequently, the visors for this helmet are incompatible with the older models. And the interior is even more comfy and is truly fully-removable, right down to the neck roll. As an added safety benefit, the cheekpads can be removed by emergency personnel while the helmet is still being worn. This makes it easier for C-spine stabilization while the helmet is removed from an unconscious rider. US Arai helmets are also Snell M2010-approved. The new spec brings the helmet's safety standards more in-line with that of ECE regulations which, some may argue, is a better standard anyway. Hope that helps!
