Looking to get a set of elevator gap seals printed for an airplane. Sent the file to a local 3d printing company, I think they saw airplane stuff and went a bit nuts. Quoted just under $400. That seems pretty strong for what they are.

Anyone have a 3d printer to go brrrrrrrrr?

    Thank you!!

I see TPU… but what’s the approximate size?

where did you have it quoted?
Rename it and run it through xometry

i’ve been happy with their pricing and support.

All in, there’s probably 4 feet of gap seal. They have voids to clear the hinges. Got the quote from Mtek3d in Knoxville.

I’ll check them out, Thank you!

Honestly, that's probably not a crazy price. I don't have the vertical capacity to do the first file, but they second and third file sliced up at 20+ hours of print time combined. Z travel kills print time, but that orientation is the best way to get accurate geometry with the seal shape. Is PLA (or PLA+) okay, or do you need ABS or Nylon?
