I finally got around to putting it onto digital. 1) Its incomplete 2) It's iirc the 2nd or 3rd recording on this section of the tape (was recorded over Mid-Ohio '95 750 SSP and 250GP stuff 3) Audio and video quality are ok. I hope that you all enjoy. I have a few more '95 races (including Freddie Spencer's last win @ Laguna) so let me know if any of you all would be interested.
Be forewarned that when someone reports you to YouTube for posting that, you will be banned for life.
Fantastic, we were there that year and many years prior and after....always at the 'hurry downs'! Was huge Hale fan (& Miguel), saw him race Springfield Mile too.
Keep the tapes, at some point someone in this group will go full nerd and get a domesday setup and will be able to pull even better rips.
Man...I had soo many Speedvision VHS tapes way back, and not one single tape to be found today. I also had the one where Larry Schwarzback passed away.A bad day for an awesome up and comer People forget way too soon Remembering Larry Schwarzbach - Cycle News
I wish I had more, and maybe some money to acquire the rare MotoVideo tapes from '94-'95 off Ebay. Those were 2 tape sets of the Prime Network shows produced by Chet Burks. I've yet to buy any sets, they tend to be hella expensive. I only have a few more from '95, plus some 2000 SBK/GP stuff. Somehow... these 4 tapes I have managed to survive 30 years without being thrown out. Shame the '95 AMA SBK @ Mid-Ohio was taped over with '95 WSBK at Monza on the tape w/ the Road America action. A family member of mine has a good collection but I'd need to sort through and rip it all.
That was a sad day, he won his first 600 race just hours before and had a lot of talent, he was running well in the races he competed in in '92 in the superbike class. Iirc it was Crevier who hit him after he hit the wall at the final turn.
Would love to see the NH69 when he came on the scene with his Hypercycle Suzuki, just sliding the shit out of every corner. Embedded in my brain but would love to re-watch that!
The way-back machine.. awsome. If anyone has a copy of the 1997 Road America AMA Superbike race I'd love to see it, was on speedvision. Some good footage I'd like to show my boys of their dad long before they came around.
Another video, this time Laguna Seca Superteams from '95. Sorry about the rather quiet audio and the fact that I didn't edit out the commercials. This is one of only two Superteams races that I know of that are on the internet, the other being Road Atlanta '94 I hope that you all enjoy!
Daamn, I was at the 95 Daytona, and 95 Mid O rounds, as a spectator. Was embedded in the street scene, and hadnt crossed over into track days, or racing just yet. Ski
I just recently found Powersports World channel on Sling TV has historic roadraces. I watched 93 road America and 93 Road Atlanta. Watching the old races brings back lots of memories. Yes, the bikes are better, the coverage is better, the tracks are better now, but something about the racing then seems so much cooler for lack of a better word to me. Maybe it's just the nostalgia. Maybe it is that it felt a little more grass roots. Every team wasn't high dollar. When I see/hear kids talking now about needing at least a hundred grand to go racing, it blows my mind. I remember sleeping in the bed of a truck and on the floor of an open trailer in order to make it to some races, including club races. Thanks to the OP for posting those up.
