RIP Dane. I am one of the many who never met him but always felt like we knew him: He wore is heart on his sleeve and his love for his sport and life in general was obvious. So sad. -T
I am sunk. This is just so hard to take in. Dane was an immense talent and one of the most down to earth folks on the planet. I just have no words........RIP Wolverine.
Horrible news. What a great person, racer and ambassador for the sport. Tragic loss... Rest In Peace Dane.
It does seem that way, but I think it's a tribute to Dane's character that this thread will surely end up being 20+ pages within a few days. How many of us would have started a thread if Dane weren't one of "the good guys?" By all accounts, he was one of the best guys. I'm another one of the people who never had any more interaction with Dane than a wave and a smile during the fan walks at Mid-Ohio, but there was something about him that just made me sure he was living right. I used to (attempt to) grow out mutton chops before I attended AMA events. Never quite worked out how to have Dane sign them :P
Freaking sucks. Couldn't believe it when I seen it on Facebook earlier this morning. Hate hearing crap like this. RIP Dane and prayers for his family and friends.
Rest in peace Dane. Thank you for sharing your talents over the years, and thank you for allowing us to watch. You made racing fun. To your family and friends, please accept our condolences. Charles and Townes Miller
Deeply saddened to hear about Dane's passing. Such a humble and admirable racer. Rest in Peace Dane. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Good memories of giving him a hard time after his first DSB race win at Mid Ohio in the pits - He will be missed. Christian
Prayers to all that worked with him and knew him.... Dane was a class act and always took the time to talk and cut up with anyone... He will be missed....
