I know most people are going to say "HELL NO" but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I'm doing my first trackday at VIR north on October 3rd. I have a 2004 Yamaha R6. I don't want to use my street plastics out there to be on the safe side if I go down. Can I borrow a set of rashed up street plastics or any type of bodywork from someone? If I go down I'll pay for you a new set, promise. I know a few people on here and they can tell you I'm good and stick to my word. I've been looking in the for sale section to maybe pick up some plastics but no luck  Or if anyone has any bodywork for sale, I'd be interested in buying maybe?

    I thought about that :D

But someone just said I could borrow their race bodywork. So I'm going to go with that.

    +1

If it's a track day and not a race, just take it all off...that way you have 0 risk of beating up anyone's plastic :)

On an side note, if you stay calm, and ride within yourself, you won't crash. Have fun!

I ride within my limits...but accidents happen ya know. I would rather buy my buddy new race plastics than buy myself new street plastics. He knows I'm good for it anyway. Plus he's crashed a quite a few times on these race plastics anyway :)

  11. The "easy" way out...???

So when you crash, the bodywork will be fine.

    Though the bike is destroyed...

If I crash hard enough to destroy a bike, bodywork would be the least of my worries:D Minor slides and new plastic don't mix too well

Are you going to be at barber on 17-18th?

And in the above pic, I had no bodywork at all. You know how we do it...:D

  16. Yeah, I forgot that those magnasium super disco covers LOVE to slide along the pavment.

And that hella expensive tach, just loves digging into the soft Jennings clay.

    Shut up, Strick.

Strick, your bike has magnesium covers? I used to think that was just too cool to see current sportbikes with the lightweight metals, until I noticed that my 1986 Yamaha XT600 has a magnesium clutch cover. :D
