I was in Birmingham many years ago when the cicadas emerged and the noise they made was just incredible, it has to be experienced to be believed. It was difficult to carry on a conversation.

I guess they don’t like the cold up here, which is good. But on the other hand, we do have the Alaska state bird, the mosquito. I was told there is more total biomass of mosquitoes in Alaska than any other single living species.

Looks to me like they're highlighting the states where they will be the most cicadas, not all the states where they will be some. Your mileage might vary.
