my mom drove us kids around in a green 59 4 door… straight 6 power glide… for a year or so… never forgot the cat eye tail lights…

 

Mine was a 63 Biscayne.
Like all MICHIGAN cars of that era, the floor mats reduced the wind coming in through the floor boards.
If you got on the brakes hard, the dirt would slide out the holes. The dust storms (with snow on the ground) were hilarious.

We were getting our share …

My Dad sold our 58 Chevy with a 348 V8 and bought a 1960 Biscayne with the straight 6 and powerglide just before I got my driver's license. Hmmm...

 

I nominate this picture to be one of the most accurate photographs ever taken in the history of mankind.

 

Guy with the dark shoes is concerned he won't be invited back.
