I did same with Q3s off my R6 on my 748. Kids at the local bike night wanted to know how and where I was riding so hard. I told them they were takeoffs from my track bike and got two of them to go to a trackday. One still rides miniGP I think.

I've never seen that picture. I knew he had permanent injury, but couldn't remember what it was. He actually was hanging at a dinner we were having back when we ran NHRA, and I remember him saying to one of the crew guys that at least he didn't have to worry about stubbing his toe. Now I know what he meant!

 

His museum down near Ocala, right off I-75 is DEFINITELY worth the stop.....I was expecting a "Money Grab" situation, but its not like that at all.......the car in that picture, that took his foot is there....the place is huge! I think he still has every single car he ever raced!

Great place. Myself and a couple friends rode down from Jax and spent over 4 hrs there.

Admission was pretty cheap too.
