I just threw it out there as an option, not an endorsement. For TU money I'd just as soon get an SR400. But for a college commuter bike, I'd much rather have a TU than a TW (but that Canada video was pretty cool).
The TW's factory accessory rack is a good size, plus the cult aftermarket makes all kinds of panniers and racks, front racks included. Not to mention they have a huge towing capacity!
I don't disagree but he really doesn't want a scooter for some reason. I think he likes the uniqueness of the TW which I do too.
Obvious choice is 1965 Honda S90. Coincidentally I’m selling one for $850. Chicks dig gapping points.
I had a grom for many years and loved it. The only problem I had with it was only being able to do 48mph up some of the hills between my house and work. I hated that feeling of being in the way. If I lived in the city, I'd still own it I'm sure. I bought an XT250 for a buddy of mine to use for a 4 day dual sport trip. I only owned it for a month, but I really liked it too. I found myself on the XT much more likely to hop off the road and explore random hills and features. There's something about a bike that size that makes things feel more whimsical, where on a full size dual sport I'd feel like I was doing something illegal. I'm 5'8" and got the XT250 to hit 83mph in a tuck. My 6'2" friends could only hit ~62mph with luggage. On my Grom, I'd struggle to do 55mph when seated upright on flat ground and maybe 61mph in a full tuck. I rode a buddie's TW200 around his neighborhood. It really felt like a Grom that you could explore off road with. The Grom was terrible just riding across a grass field with the stock suspension. I'd say with a Grom, you're more likely to ride it like a sportbike and race through the streets. With the TW you're probably a little more likely to ride it a little slower around town, but be able to explore anywhere you want to go with it. I'd go TW over Grom where I am now.
TW is solid. Really simple, easy to ride, pretty tough, and wife's is fine and starts right up after sitting for 3 months. They do come with a POS chain though. Tu250 is a better road bike- the tw200 might be the only thing on the road somehow slower than a tu250. Have both in my garage, can confirm. The grom is a joke. Fun for about 15 minutes, then pass it on to the next sucker. Maybe if you have a kart track around?
Oh no you didnt!!!! Pulls up a chair, cigar, popcorn, and sportsbook app for the upcoming fight of the century
Luckily Travis's son has size 19 feet. I'm not quite sure who else would be able to use that shifter? Just me?
Brogan's a mature young man, and seems to know what he wants/likes. For running around the campus of his choice....the TW is a great choice if that what he wants. Grom, TW......whatever Bro wants, Bro should get....can't go wrong with either.
Scooters get mocked alot, especially by youngsters. But goddammit, they're convenient little bastards.
Yeah it’s a stretch from the passenger pegs. This was built from a pile o parts and main footpegs came up missing. Better to dangle feet because the brakes suck.
I agree. We own to many cars and bikes. Out of all of them, the Zuma 125 is the fastest to go to the store and pick something up.
