I see the driveshaft still attached in front so it wasn't that

 

Probably a lift/leveling block, and the first time he hit the brakes with that extra trailer weight and that extra leverage peeled the axle from the u bolts. Or they were installed incorrectly. That's my internet guess.

 

No skid marks from the tire adds to the WTF factor.

 

Yeah, I noticed that too. It could have happened at a slow speed. Like crawling in traffic, and then a sudden jab at the brakes. I'd think if it was a higher speed situation, that axle would have left the building, and the truck and trailer would not be on the road still in the lane.

 

I can just see Mr. Mayhem laughing and saying "And if you have cut rate insurance you might be paying for this yourself..."

 

This is a real thing. I know of a couple who fought over their dog.

 

In Augusta, they fight over Masters Tickets.

 

In eastern Tennessee they used to fight over Nascar Bristol night tickets.

 

At least with those tangible items, there's legal recourse for the aggrieved party...

 

In Alabama they fight over whether they are legally still cousins after the divorce.
