@John29 Set us straight on this please. This article states he's taking Joe Roberts place https://www.speedweek.com/moto2/news/166492/American-Racing-holt-Cameron-Beaubier-statt-Roberts.html He's listed on top in Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Moto2_World_Championship
I spoke to someone last night who was due to get him on the phone and ask him. I'll post up if I hear anything.
Just trying to clear up a rumor. That's the info folks were posting in other threads and I think it warrants it's own discussion / thread about it.
Good bike and they punch way above their financial situation. They also have Hopper as the rider coach. Plus chicks dig 'em.
Dude is just speculating. The current owner is a real estate developer from Socal and was supposed to only be the team manager last year, and ended up bailing them out and becoming the sole owner. Who knows how deep his pockets are though.
Only way I see Cam going to Moto2 is with a good bike (which AR seem to have now with the Kalex chassis) and equal or more pay. Isn't he like 27? I'm sure he has a mortgage/property at this point.. I feel like Cam would do much better staying on a production bike and trying to go to WSBK. Would be great to see him in either paddock TBH.
I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure that he's had his salary cut by half 3 years in a row now. At some point you have to start asking yourself what's left for him to do here. On the other hand, I also know that many of the Moto2 rides are paid, $250K a year, so it takes a big sponsor to make it worthwhile for him to go there- unless you think some of the few teams that pay have decided to forego all the young European talent for a 27 Year old Superbike Champ? He's an incredible talent. Would love to see him kicking ass in Europe.
Not to shit in anyone's Cheerios, but I highly doubt the BBS or a TrackDaz podcast is going to be the place where this is confirmed as credible. Could totally be wrong though...
The only reason why I put that link in here is because someone else did in the other thread. I agree with you though it is laughable
