Oh man, that is terrible news. R.I.P. Sir. I remember being at Barbers for I do believe was the Vintage races. In the infield I had seen a Goldwing with big Brembo brakes...it was cool as hell. Later I was told it was Drebbers! Going miss him!!!!!!!!!!
I knew there was a resident Beekeeper around here. Forgot it was Drebber. Just getting into it now, and really like the style of hive he used.
rest easy, Dreb. One of my favorite motorcycle memories is chatting with him in the Road Atlanta pits about an RC30.
Yesterday started out with the fun meter on medium. Got the news and it sank deep into the shit. What a kick in the guts. But then I jumped on the bike and hit the backroads. I set my Pandora to the Aretha channel so I had the other amazing voice we just lost in my ears. Rolling through the countryside, wicking it up a bit here and there, and pulling a few wheelies, all the while thinking of Dreb and some of the rides we shared. Fun meter back in the red limiter!
Man, life is hard sometimes. My condolences to all of Dreb's friends. Farewell to one of the best in the business. RIP Mr Drebber.
Thanks for the share Sean. Please help if can, the story explains what the money will be used for. The motorcycle (race) community is great love you guys. - Matt
Met him behind the tower @ Road America some years ago. He and Sadowski just loved my buddy's BSA. He had a million stories. GodSpeed Dreb, glad I had the opportunity to meet you.
Wow, I'm even more sad learning it was a deer collision that robbed us of one of America's greatest MC road-racing broadcast legends. Godspeed Brian! Condolences to his family and friends, I'm so bummed, he will be greatly missed! Am I mistaken that it was Dreb who used to pop up in here on occasion sharing old race pics or to help ID racers or locations......I'll miss that too.
