    My point was that politicians go into government and do whatever they want. They do not represent the populace. The politicians agreeing to debt should not obligate the citizens to repay it.

    Pointless public works projects to support the massive public sector employee economy. New roads to nowhere, marinas without boats, other general stupid stuff. I guess the hope was that infrastructure improvement would stimulate growth.

    Now it they could get people to pay taxes....
