I don't like this guy, he's mean. I dig XX, haven't had Shiner in a while though. I love Smith & Forge, one of my favorites. That shit is nasty. I bought a couple once and ended up giving them to a buddy.
What do you want to know? I think one of the most interesting beers I have tried lately (and really, I don't get out much as I always have a lot of stuff here) is the BeerCamp Hoppy Lager. Many moons ago, Sierra used to make a beer called Spring Bock, which was golden in color, about 6.5% v/v, and hoppier than any bock on the planet (but still well balanced, and not at all hoppy by modern standards). It was spectacular when fresh. This beer has some minor similarities, although the finishing hops are all new-school. A bit dangerous at 7% v/v. This just for Dave: Blue Moon is shit. Its like they took a real Witbier and diluted it 70% Carry on!
I might pick some up on the way home. That sounds good. I've tried some of Imperial's stuff, Donut Break is good. I got hung on Lazy Mongolia Southern Pecan for a time. It's a damn good finish.
Palm -a nice Belgium Victory- Prima Pils Southern Tier - Live (I know you said no craft beers, but it's tasty)
Not all craft beers are bad, I have had a few I like. One with a skull on it is good, can't remember the name.
Took your time, Dave. You ever try Samuel Smiths Winter Welcome Ale? Hard to find, but very tasty for a S. Smiths. -jim
If I'm not mistaken that is brewed in Latrobe, PA.....which would probably make it rebranded Rolling Rock.
I was just looking at that at the store, ended up getting a variety pack instead. Sipping on a Shiner Ruby Redbird right now. Interesting to say the least.
I'll overlook the Bud Light I have it on tap at my kitchen sink in hot and cold Try some Becks Light My go to brew for many years Cheaper now that they have an American brewery but still brewed to the German Purity Law Hence the sneaky "German Quality Beer" instead of "Quality German Bèer" Still good stuff and a not too radical deviation from Rolling Rock JMHO While vacationing in Del Ray Beach Florida I found some Naragansett beer from Massachusetts My Dad used to drink it when he was stationed there when I was a kid Gave it a try Smooth and easy lager beer I got it at Trader Joes down there Will be looking for it here
I mostly drink BL because you can get it for $3 for a pitcher at the local mexican joint. Same thing with Rolling Rock, $1 drafts at the Fuji up the road. I´ĺl keep my eyes out for those though and give them a try. I´m turning back a hoe garden right now it taste as cloudy as it looks, eh, I´ll finish it.
Batch 19 is actually pretty good. If you drink any beer at all then you are missing out on crafts. There are about 25 shit ones for every good one. But when you find that one....
Hmmm, really. Might make for an interesting comparison just to confirm. Haven't had a Rolling Rock in a very long time.
