i use 3M spray mount glue for all my grips on my bikes. has the same effect. goes on nice and easy... then i have to cut them off with razorblades when its time for new ones. trying to pull those things off is like king arthur's sword in a rock.
Maybe that's the key to their speed? I quit using it, I only used coke because I liked the way it smelled.
Theres another chemical thats much better and can be dilluted according to weather/track conditions. Apparently VHT has 1 mixture method... "break your drivetrain/steal your shoes" sticky.
Yes to coke on tires, also seen spray paint tried and hairspray - basically the same things people try on handgrips. Absolutely yes to coke syrup on drag strips - before VHT (probably after if you had sponsorship from the local bottling plant). And yes to cleaning corrosion off of battery terminals and all sorts of things. Scary amazing stuff really
