I've never understood that rule, but it is what it is for a reason i suppose, at least they allow us pads & lines
So for those of you not understanding the rule - should I allow aftermarket wheels too? After all, we allow a 5k SS build, wheels are cheap as hell in comparison.
Not sure if that was directed at me or not, & i'm not complaining too much about the rule, i'm still fairly new to racing and it seemed minor compared to what was allowed.
It is called rules creep.. when a 'stock' class ends up with a long list of things you need to do to stay competitive. Pretty soon the class is no where near stock and the 'cheap' class to enter to play you need several thousand in parts to be competitive. The engine rule, that superstock build is 100% within specs for a stock engine with a 'normal prudent rebuild' allowance. You are paying the big stacks of $$ to an engine guy who knows how to squeeze a few additional horses out of a to the stock spec complaint build. You are paying more for his R&D to find the power within the rulebook than the 'parts' in the engine.
Not sure how we get those numbers. But more than half say it should be legal, and more than half say it shouldnt.
Nothing wrong with the stock one with some knowhow. I never got fade or any other issues on my stock MCs.. and I go OK. If fluid is changed regularly the recall is moot too.
