    Any opinions on which one makes a better racebike? I did some racing with a 1st gen last year and wondered if racing a 2nd gen might be better. Thanks in advance..

    This is like the 50th thread asking the same. lol

    In WERA Nationals it was about 50/50 1st to 2nd gen.

    I never had a mechanical issue with my 1st gen. We did lose a fuel pump on our 1st gen endurance bike though.

    They're both great bikes.

    I can't get my 2nd gen to handle as well as my 1st gen. My 1st gen never made power like my 2nd gen. I haven't equaled the times I did on the 1st gen with the 2nd gen yet.

    Handling = 1st gen

    Power = 2nd gen

    I still prefer the 1st gen myself.

    SS or SBK?

    SS = 2nd gen
    SBK = Doesn't matter.

    same as every one else,
    handling 1st gen,
    power 2nd gen.
    SS 2nd gen,
    SB 1st gen.

    My 1st gen with 01 GSXR750 front and flatslides was one awsome little bike. Lance

    I went faster on the 2nd gen. I hate the taller tank, though. Especially since I started wearing a chest protector.

    G1 - my bike is like a part of me. No thought, no effort, it just works (sorry, currently retired... lol). Not saying all cases but in mine I'd not trade my G1... Forget technology, just do what is right for you...

    thanks..

    Interesting, racing the first gen last year, (F3 AHRMA)... the little SV did seem almost intuitive, so forvgiving. I will probably keep her and race it again this year. I will try to make it handle a little better, (forks to race tech) and make it a little lighter, (aluminum subframe Lithium battery). I went and watched you guys at NOLA last summer..you guys are crazy fast...
