The swingarm has a different part number for the 08 GSXR 600 vs. 07 GSXR 750.

Will the 08 600 swingarm work on the 07 750 frame?

Hmmm.... thought that the 06-07 swingarm is identical to the 08-09.

It must be something insignificant that doesn't affect fitment.

An 08 radiator is black vs. 07 aluminum in color. Identical parts except for the paint but they have different part numbers.

Doesn't the 08-09 swing arm hold the rear brake caliper in place when the wheel comes off?

^^ I can confirm that it does not...PITA to re&re the rear wheel because of it.

Maybe it is the newer ones then, 2010-2011 models. For my 06 I got one of the caliper holding tools some guy sells on the WERA classifieds, can't remember who, works good.

Yes, it works. Just did it on my buddy's bike. If you are putting the 08 swingarm on the 07 you will need to change the caliper to an 08 due to the mounting point. The 08's are easier to change the rear.

piper907, he's one of us WMRRA guys. the tool is spectacular and works on both Suzukis and Yamahas. Haven't tried it on Kawi or Honda. Well worth the $25 or so he asks for it.

RIB333 is 100% correct. The only difference between the two is that the 08/09 swingarm WILL hold the rear caliper in place whereas with the 06/07 the rear caliper will just fall (unless you have one of Corson Piper's handy tools).

If you have an 08/09 and the rear caliper doesn't stay put when you remove the rear wheel than I can pretty much guarantee you that your swingarm is an 06/07 model.

    That's what I thought.
Caliper tool is a home run regardless.

    to the original post:
the 08-09 swingarm and rear caliper are slotted while the 06-07 are not. I have not verified that the caliper brackets are interchangeable between swingarms but the swingarm will be interchangable with the frame. Hope that helps...

Chris... I have a tool for the Kawi 600 and CBR 600 now... it's in the classifieds ;)

Well, unbeknownst to me, I must have an 08 swingarm on my other 07 600 because it has the slot in the swingarm for the caliper bracket.

    Thanks for the replies.

so just to get things straight, the 06-07 will work on the 08-09 with no issues correct?

I believe you need to switch the rear caliper also.

just the caliper or the carrier and caliper?

Swingarm will work. Needs correct year caliper mount too. The 06-07 caliper bracket won't work on an 08-09 swinging arm. You get the idea...

Ya sorry that's what I meant. I never take the caliper off the caliper bracket so I just consider them one piece. The 08/09 caliper bracket is captive while the 06/07 is not.
