Ahrma is racing on the south course the same weekend that the AMA was supposed to be there. Same as last year but Cycle Jam was there on the north course while Ahrma ran the south course.
well this was asked by atlas i assume: "What can the fans do? write or call VIR & express your displeasure! tell them you want to see professional motorcycle racing at VIR this year! contact VIR's Connie Nyholm at (434) 822-7700 ext 118 or [email protected] and let VIR know how you feel!" i already wrote my email, and will try to call her later today. i didn't flame, or point blame her way....i just voiced my concern and disappointment in the news. i am hoping that "cooler heads" will prevail, if not, i will vote with my wallet this year and next year concerning VIR and their events and races they schedule and promote. i encourage others to follow suit if they wish to do so. i also encourage people to contact foremost insurance and american suzuki as they are "title" sponsors of the event. one way to enact change is to build a groundswell of support to the canceled event.....but try to mind your words, thoughts, and emotions. don't go all "full tilt crazy button" and act a fool. keep it professional and to the point. cheers to all, tex
I was wondering how long it would be before that contact information made it onto the BEEB. What happens next...
Im betting folks "voting with their wallet" is what precipitated this move to begin with...despite what MBmotorsports and his 25 years experience has to say
I had to look it up. I'll admit it: without refinement, delicacy, or sensitivity; gross; obtuse; stupid: crass commercialism; a crass misrepresentation of the facts.
logic... reason... handling a situation with a cool head...? BLASPHEMY!!! thats just not the beeb way
A bunch of people who, in reality, had no intention of going to watch the races in person and are not involved with the series are going to take great personal offense and write a series of strongly-worded and ill-informed emails because they won't be able to watch the races from home ... that is, if they haven't already cancelled their cable subscription because they don't like GDub or the way Scott Russell's voice sounds ... or something like that. Just a guess.
My email to Conny, To Whom It May Concern, I was very excited to see the AMA Pro Racing series at VIR again this year. It's the only professional motorcycle race I've attended. I live in the Washington D.C. area and was planning on bringing 2 people and a dog; the trip is 5 hours and well worth it. The 2 people do not give two shits about motorcycle racing but the atmosphere last year made them excited to return. For those that actually like racing the competition this year has been incredible to say the least. It's very disappointing to see that you have called off the race, hopefully this isn't a final decision and based on interest your position can be persuaded. Please put the race back on! Sincerely, -- Motorcycle Racing Fan Also likes VIR
I'm trying to attend Cornerspeed on the 8th to get my license. If I make it I'll be there Sunday to watch , no dog though :/.
In a nutshell, me, any other fan, the racers, their sponsors, or anybody else that loses in this scenario. You personally know the implications of something like this. They are FAR reaching.
Fuck you very much Mr. Canada. I backed off of you last night, if you want to continue to roll I'm game.
