pretty sure the 3rd plug at headlite is another lite. Does it have gas in it?

They moved that up there in 08, didn't they? 07 had it on the airbox.

ok if it was the intake temp sensor and it wasnt plugged in would that cause the bike to not start? im a honda guy used to just turning the key and riding lol not used to all this yamaha nonsense.

Does the bike throw any codes? Have you checked the plugs to make sure one or more is not fouled from old fuel?

does not seem to be throwing any codes at all the yellow light is on whenu turn the key on but thats it and no havent swaped out the plugs doenst really seem like the fuel that was in the tank smelt varnished or anything....so i guess swapping plugs didnt really come to mind charged up the battery alittle more today and and cranked it over some more and every once in awhile it will kinda hiccup but thats it

It is still worth while to check the plugs.

It will run without the sensor, If it fired at all I would say fouled plugs. A lot of salvage bikes will have oil in the top end from laying on their side. As well as Joe at the boneyard cranking on it with the throttle wide open. If it has a pc3, even more likely since most run richer than stock.
