    aren’t you out west? Utah?

I remember that guy begging us to try one in Michigan around 95…

I thought he was local… he made them for years for different bikes trying to get everyone to run them…

I’d love to see the wind tunnel runs of some of these contraptions… that Ape one looks focused on killing the draft maybe with turbulence…

Did anybody really think there was any other eventuality once GP teams started hiring F1 engineers?

Ducati was too long wheel base to turn good. They added aero to shorten wheel base while still being able to keep front wheel on the ground. If you yank aero off bikes now they would completely have to re design.

The previous years Aprilia always reminded me of a hammerhead shark when viewed from the front.

I gots no desire to read the rulebook... is active aero allowed? I think it would be amusing (and probably annoying in a short time) to see all those wings gyrating throughout a race.

While not visually appealing, I'd be curious to know what kind of gains their seeing and what the goals are.

Same here, what are the differences in lap times and do the riders like it? And has the racing gotten better with it? I haven’t watched much GP the past couple years, partly because I hate the new look of the bikes, so I’m not up on it.

They're already there. Just look at Ducati's Streetfighter R. It's got more wings that Tinkerbell.

do the other Aprilias have them or is that actually someone from Trackhouse? I didn’t think they’d be doing any development in house…

Check recent posts in the 2024 GP silly season thread, there's a couple posts covering those but yes it looks like a few bikes are running them for testing. Basically airflow sensors.

I don't know what the rules are now but not too long ago the front of the fairing wasn't allowed in front of a line drawn vertically from the front wheel spindle and nothing was allowed to be beyond a line drawn vertically from the rear of the rear tyre.
